i'm used to the cats (usually the shorthaired one) walking on my keyboard. but this morning, she managed to get my monitor into menu mode.
this meets my quota of boring cat posts.

as for un-cat-related things, man, it's really hard to shift patterns of behavior and thought. particularly when part of your brain, however misguidedly, is convinced that it's *good* to keep with these crufty old patterns. HELLO, BRAIN, NOT HELPING.

*sigh*

stupid lack of debuggers for my head. although if i had one, i'd have to be careful about setting breakpoints incorrectly or something. so maybe it's good that i dont' have one.

in other other news, perhaps as a reaction to working on emotional crap in my head, the overintellectual side of my head is being obsessed with antennae. particular for wifi stuff with an eye towards direction finding. as more AP's appear in my neighborhood, i'm curious where they are.
i've been perusing some of my antenna-related books, and may end up building something in a bit.

and in drug-related news, i was intruiged by the single-serving teapot at www.adagio.com, so i bought one and it works great. i brewed up a nice cup of irish breakfast tea in it this morning. the only bug i've found so far is that while it's dishwasher save it is somewhat awkward to put in the dishwasher (either that, or i'd have to pop the top on and off, and it doesn't look like it's designed to do that without fatiguing the little plastic ears on the hinge). also, i suspect that if i let the steeped tea leaves dry and then tried to clean it, i might end up having a hard time cleaning the filter. but that's easily avoided. and, of course, if you're dumping the tea into an opaque container, there's the risk of overfilling since you can't see into the lower cup. but overall review is that it makes a spiffy cup of tea. and now i have more options for single-servings of tea at home. (where "more" is "more than one". helpful when guests don't share my tea preference)
