THANK YOU, ME OF THE PAST

I love it - LOVE IT - when some bit of clever clue I had in the past makes things easier for me in the present. It makes me like myself, because I did a nice thing that made my life easier.

In this instance, a while back, clauclauclaudia and I picked up a new bathroom floor mat at IKEA. In this instance, the mat was more like a heavy duty towel and less like a latch-hook rug. And I looked at it, looked at the price tag, thought for a moment about my cats who occasionally puke in the bathroom, and grabbed a second one, so that when one was dirty we could replace it with the other.

This morning was the second time since getting the mats that one of the cats had a large reverse peristalsis event on the mat. So I cleaned the mat off somewhat, tossed it in the washer, and picked up the other mat that had just gone through the wash from a cat hork event last week.

... and just think what would it do to the chicago school of economics!

It recently occurred to me, while idly thinking about time travel: while everyone tries to kill hitler, I wonder what the effect would be if someone went back in time and killed Ayn Rand. Or at least got her busted for staying in the country after her visa expired.

Now *there's* a thought experiment.
