this reminds me of when i had my cats spayed -- i was worried that they'd tear out their stitches and i'd have to duct tape the cat closed to take her to the vet.

Though I suspect it would be quite the adventure to remove the tape if the cat is not restrained or sedated...

Duct tape is actually a great field expedient wound closure. It helps, however, to know when you do use such a thing (when you can't friggin' stop the bleeding any other way, even with a whole lot of direct pressure) and when you don't (all other circumstances).

it's true! duct tape is good. i've generally been more likely to use electrical tape, tho, for finger and knuckle damage.
