i took second place! (out of 307) in the poker tournament.

i'm exceedingly pleased. i started the day in 3rd chip position and was up and down and up and down and ended up making second, so i guess that worked out pretty well.

So, in your opinion, what is the difference between a fish and a donkey, in the context of poker?

the term donkey is more hip. or at least newer.

in usage, "donkey" is often used in a way that implies stupid while "fish" is often used in a way that means ignorant. also, i've seen "donk" used as a verb while i haven't seem "fish" used like that. (context: "yeah, the two of us got a little drunk and found a nice passive game and totally donked it up, straddling and then reraising with trash but we kept sucking out until a couple of the other players went totally on tilt.")

fishy is used as an adjective while donkey-ish or donkish isn't, in my experience.
