i send clauclauclaudia on her way last nite, and woke up this morning with a strong urge to Get The Fuck Out Of Town. (but still be available via pager and/or cellphone since i knew the other neteng at work was out of the reach of modern consumer communication technology and i'd promised to remain so), so i gave in to the urge and headed to foxwoods to celebrate the great american game -- poker -- for a while today.


dude, i suck at this game.

i spent most of the time in the 5-10 (with a full kill at $100) limit hold-em game. i'd tell stories of being outkicked and out drawn, but then i'd owe you all a dollar for the bad beat stories. (my favorite hand, though, was when i made aces full of tens against someone who had made aces full of eights)

man, i've lost any hubris left over after the previous time i was down there.

this should put me in a fine state to get my ass kicked at barge. i should start toughening up my liver for then, too.

at least the craps table still loves me.

Someday I'd like to go with you to Foxwoods. Likely I would not play (much) poker, as I'm a "lowest stakes" player. I just want to see the place.

Hint: you might want to keep your eyes on the news. Atlantic City casinoes are closed because New Jersey State has no budget. Stupid, yes. However, things might get a little crowded at Foxwoods if hardcore gamblers skip out on their gamblers anonymous meetings...
