rmdsigh. the thing that's worse than something running without a UPS is something running with a so-called "UPS" that dies when line power dies and doesn't come back up when line power is re-established. i'm gonig to relabel it "IPS"

home again now, anyways.
actually, fairly mellow as outages go. most things came back up when power came back. i had to fsck a couple of machines (which required me to bug other people trying to get the root password) but i figured nobody was going to be using them till tomorrow so if they weren't up, oh well.
