no-kill cat shelters?

anyone know a no-kill shelter that will take an ancient cat so it can live out its dotage?

(i'm asking for a friend, i'm not getting rid of my cats.)

many years ago i got a cat from a no kill shelter in peabody...

how ancient? tell me more about the cat...if you can't find a no kill i MIGHT have a solution.

No-kill shelters have the luxury of being no-kill because they only accept cats that they can adopt out quickly. No cats with behavior problems, illnesses, or advanced age.

I have seen advertisements in Cat Fancy magazine for kitty 'retirement' communities. They are pricey. Still might be worth checking out.

Try The Pat Brody Shelter in Lunenburg it's where we got our current two. They will need to make a donation for them to take the cat.

No-kill shelters have the luxury of being no-kill because they only accept cats that they can adopt out quickly.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is sometimes the case, but it's certainly not true with the no-kill shelter in my building. As a rule, they charge money to accept cats, but I believe they've been known to bring in a stray that has no one to take care of it, too. They have many who have such severe behavior problems that they live with one of the shelter volunteers until they can come to the building. They take FIV+ cats and foster them separately, and other poor sick kitties. There's a beautiful elder-gentleman cat there now, who's been there since December or January.

Mostly they have the "luxury" on the backs of the volunteers.
