i could talk about my weekend. but it's kind of complicated. so, instead, i will share a thought i had while watching the somerville memorial day parade:

what if you put the emperor norton stationary marching band in a parade on a parade float. would they still be a stationary marching band?

(i am reminded of a gay pride parade in seattle, where the folks at an apartment building along the parade route had a big party in their street-facing yard and big signs marking them as the "stationary float")
