everybody who voted "ear infection"... YOU'RE WRONG.
apparently, the stabbing pain in my ear is referred pain from the roof of my mouth, where i have a big old blister. so now i have, among other things, some valtrex (for the cold sores) and possibly the weirdest medication i've ever taken, anaesthetic mouthwash. i just tried it the first time, and i'm thinking i may switch to direct application with a qtip instead of swishing it around in my mouth, so that i'll feel a little less like i've just come from the dentist's office.

Date: 2007-11-27 02:08 pm (UTC)i am now physically incapable of making the snore noise, and i can easily go a weekend without my cpap machine (after a week, i start feeling it, since i'm not sleeping ideally but certainly better than i used to without the machine).
yes, it radically changed my gag reflex.

Date: 2007-11-27 10:13 pm (UTC)is this a common thing to do for sleep apnea? i know a number of people on machines for it, and never heard of doing this.

Date: 2007-11-27 03:14 am (UTC)The mouthwash sounds bizarre. Is it helpful?
*hugs*

Date: 2007-11-27 03:43 am (UTC)although after trying it as a swish-around-then-spit mouthwash, i think i'm going to try direct application with a qtip (followed by spitting) or something like that instead next time. while having the ouchy parts of my mouth not ouchy means i can drink and eat more easily, the whole "i can't feel my tongue" makes me worry about biting it. and really, that's not good for anyone. so perhaps a bit more precision in application next time.
