No matter how hard Ridley Scott tries, "Bladerunner" will never have as many different cuts as "Metropolis".

I saw the 2000-ish restoration and it was a remarkable improvement on the cut that had been available for decades before. They found even more footage several years ago and have been restoring it and now they've got close to the original runtime and got someone to record the original score. It's playing at the Coolidge Corner Theater right now, and I'm totally psyched to see it. clauclauclaudia and I have tix to go see it tonight (Saturday) at the 7pm show.

Darndarndarn. I have wanted to see the new one since I heard about it (this is the one with parts found in a vault in South America along with Mengele's head, right?) but I have a houseguest. Must find out how long it is playing 'n' stuff. . .

*laugh* Well, it was found in a museum archive. It's running some days next week too, so check the Coolidge website and do see it there!
