rmdOne of the films that, having read the description, I didn't think I wanted to see was "A Serbian Film". I just read an interesting review of it.
Reading the wikipedia article on the film... yeah, actually, I can see that interpretation. Still don't think I want to see the film itself, tho.
Because ten minutes in you realize what you are really watching is a recreation of the Serbian experience of the Balkan wars

Date: 2010-12-02 11:52 pm (UTC)Of course, it seems that some nationalist Serbs are viewing this as an AWESOME PRO-SERB movie. (why? i have no idea. maybe because the Serbian hero is SO VIOLENT?) At least that's what I hear from a mefi user who lived thru the war (http://www.metafilter.com/98076/A-Serbian-Film-Not-torture-porn#3398818).
