observation: cats do not like having tea poured on them.

theory: this won't stop them from getting underfoot when i'm walking to the fridge to get milk for my tea.

How are the cat's doing, besides messing with ya?? Have you add'ed any cats to the collection?

oh, they're fine. still the three of them. they spend all their time wandering around in feline bliss watching the pigeons a few feet away on the neighbor's garage roof, sleeping on or under the bed, sitting in whatever chair i want to sit in, the usual. i splashed some tea on vague and she was briefly annoyed but wandered off and is now happily sleeping on the cat furniture.
