I found a way to make the latest (and likely final) restoration of Lang's "Metropolis" even better! Live music. In this instance, live music from Alloy Orchestra, a 3 man (one of whom is Roger Miller of Mission of Burma and Birdsongs of the Mesozoic) ensemble that does music for silent films. Substantially non-period, but really quite good. It ran tonight to a sold-out house in the main stage of the Somerville Theatre.

I saw them when they did this in Seattle a few months back. It was great! Did you buy a copy of the soundtrack? I did. :) I like it better than the 'official' one, personally. :)
