And, of course, since the mini battery was sitting idle for so long and I've only done very short drives, my battery just died. *sigh*

I'll deal with that later because I have a hairdresser appt and dammit I need a hair cut.

Maybe bus/walk back to my car and call AAA? Something like that.

ETA: after a long rest (wherein I got a haircut and came back to the car), the car managedto start. So, Yay! But I guess it's time to replace the original battery... Maybe it didn't want to outlive the motor? :)

Oh, I think they did. It was just shy of starting, and I'd been sitting earlier for the duration of a phone call with radio running so I guess that ran it down just enough. It managed to start up after a long rest, so that's good. I'm still running on the original battery so I think that I Gould replace it to go with newer motor...

How old is your car? If more than 5 years, it is usually a good idea to replace your battery (especially before winter arrives).

Seven years or so. So, yeah. Definitely time for a new battery. Conveniently, the car is empty of cruft, so it's easy to get to the battery. (it's in the bottom of the hatch area in the back in the S to make room for the turbo)
