I want to pay someone to move my old television.

I have a big, heavy (165lbs) television on the 3rd floor of my house. I want to get it out of my house. At least down to the driveway, possibly into the truck so I can take it away for recycling to the city DPW.

Before I post this on craigslist or task rabbit or something, I figured I'd see if there was anyone on my friendslist who would want to do this since I'd rather pay friends than strangers. Any strong friends (or friends with strong kids) interested? I'm guessing it'll cost me at least $50 to have strangers do it, so I'll happily pay that much to friends.

More seriously, can you disassemble the TV into smaller pieces, so it'll be easier to carry? (just watch out for the capacitors)

Actually, I don't think it would fit through any of the windows. (The windows upstairs are all rather narrow)

How big is it in volume? Could two (or more) people together easily carry it?

(I ask because our old huge-and-heavy TV was unpleasantly compact and dense, and it was tricky for two people to get a good safe grip on it.)

It's not the volume, but the lack of handles. I'll probably grab some ratcheting straps and wrap those around it to provide some better ways to grab it.

I have a task rabbit friend who both laurie and shazza have used who is really reliable. He got my freezer in here for me. He's moved on to doing his own business and I can get you the number if you do decide to go that way.
