Amy and I were looking at the map at the top of the
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage_in_the_United_States#Federal_law
section, and observed that you can now drive across the country and still be legally married the whole time, if you count "Government/court announced intention to legalize".

Gay Wedding Chapel of Las Vegas
(http://www.gaychapeloflasvegas.com) has updated their offerings to include "legal same sex weddings". (I'd look on their website but the webdesign makes me want to use lynx)

IMO, this is the end of the legal contest. The SC said nothing and said it very loudly.
The first change (in the US) was on May 17, 2004. That's only 10 years, 5 months ago.
