donating glasses?

Anyone know where I can donate eyeglasses locally? Some post offices used to have a donation box, but I haven't seen one in a post office for a while.

I've seen donation boxes randomly in malls too, which I guess isn't particularly helpful. Have you tried asking your eye care folks if they know of anywhere to donate?
