Suck.

But hey, at least they didn't pump 200 gallons through a disconnected oil pipe onto your basement floor, leaving you saddled with the costs of cleanup.

Happened in Delaware a number of years ago. Oil company screwed up the delivery address and put the hose into the fill pipe of the house next door, where they had converted to gas heat and taken out the oil tank but the fill pipe was still stuck into the masonry foundation. Presto, basement full of #2 heating oil. As it so happens, under US environmental law the property owner is proximately liable for cleanup, so the homeowner got stuck for five figures' worth of cleanup and disposal...and it wasn't covered by insurance, either. He had to sue the oil company. No idea how that turned out.

i'll take a guess she is still annoyed. and conversely, (is that the word?) her tenant is ecstatic.

I was even there for the initial call and I heard you specify, repeatedly, the #2 tank..
