so, i had tasty lasagna for dinner tonite and then went to sleep to snooze for many hours before doing off-hours work in the morning on sunday.

except the lasanga triggered *vicious* reflux.

of course, i sleep with the cpap, which blows air down my nose making sure that my throat stays open clear up to my nose. so my guess is that the stomach acid made it as far up as my sinuses.

i woke up and couldn't breathe. i mean COULD. NOT. BREATHE. pulled the mask off. managed to wheeze thru my mouth a bit as i panicked and wondered if i should call 911. i figured out what had happened (just really bad reflux) and relaxed a bit and waited for the reflux experience to subside. i'm fine now.

but god DAMN. that was the worst reflux ever.

ACK!

OK, YUCK. How awful for you. Get a prescription for Prevacid or Prilosec -- stops reflux dead, even if it's already started.

I am Jack's digestive juices.

That sounds horrid! Worse than any reflux I've ever experienced. Can you get some Prilosec? Something prescription-like?
*hugs*

Not being able to breathe is even scarier than being chased by bees. I recommend the anti-reflux pills. Not from personal experience, but from a whole "not breathing really sucks" standpoint. ^_^

i had a bad round of reflux several years ago, and they hooked me up with some prescription strength axid (which is double the dosage of OTC axid), and it worked well. so last nite i took two axid and chewed a bunch of tums and i've been fine since.

Sympathies again, babe.

Diagnostic phrase OTD: Esophageal spasm with reflux (either causing or caused by) - my new path of research. I'll let you know what I find.
