my right ear hurts. and by "hurts" i mean "feels like someone keeps jabbing it with an icepick at 10 second intervals for a while". sometimes it'll settle down for 20 minutes or so, but then it's right back to *jab* (wait) *jab* (wait) *jab*.

my god this sucks.

i went to the doctor - it doesn't look like an ear infection in that there's no vertigo or congestion or visible inflamation of the throat or nasal passages and only a very slight inflamation of the right ear. but i have eardrops now which haven't helped at all yet but hopefully will soon because otherwise i may amputate my head to make the pain stop.

When I had earaches as a child my mom used to heat up baby oil on the stove, dip a cotton ball in it, and then push that gently into my ear. The heat helped probably more than the oil did, and it leaves your ear and the area around it all oily, but it couldn't hurt. The heat might help ease whatever the problem is.

i was doing hot (water-based) compresses yesterday and early today, which helped while i was doing them but not much after. i'm wary of putting anything into my ear besides the prescription ear drops, now, tho, since i've got freaky meds allegedly on the case.

(wait wait *taptaptap* wait wait "HURRY UP STUPID MEDS" wait wait)

Ow.

Damn ear gnomes.

Perhaps an application of medical marijuana would help.

Ouch. Sounds awful. I hope you're feeling better really soon, since I sort of like your head where it is now.
