I'm pretty skeptical that you can make a room in the average house airtight to the point where you could suffocate yourself anyway. A closet maybe, but there's just too many little cracks and fissures and places where things aren't flush. On the other hand, someone with sufficient terrified motivation could probably manage it.

If we were evil, consider how much money we could make by buying cheap tents, spraying them with sealant and putting in battery operated HEPA filters. Call them "Emergency NBC Shelters" and you could probably make millions. It's like the 50's bomb shelter scares again, except your product doesn't even have to be structural.
