so, i've got one of those george foreman grills. they're pretty cool. i was making some tasty brunch (burger for me and i was splitting some sausage with claudia who was also engaging in cheerios (which do not go so good on the grill)). in case you're unfamiliar with the basic foreman grill design, it's a sloped grill so grease drips off into a removable grease-trap thing that sits in front of the grill.

well, when things were nearly done, i knocked the grease trap onto the floor. i jumped fast enough that i didn't get spattered with hot grease. so i put the othe grease trap in place and started cleaning up from the spill. when i was done cleaning up, i proceeded to spill the other grease trap onto the floor too.

stupid gravity waves. although i suppose it's better than no gravity and the grill producing free-floating blobs of grease that would float around the house and spatter you when you weren't expecting it. also, the cats might be really annoying in zero g.

I once (on the advice of an investment newsletter that I am, for some reason, no longer subscribing to) invested in Salton Foods (SFP), the parent company that sells the george foreman grills. The stock dropped from 30 down to about 16. Does that count?

(... Fortunately, (1) I'd made the original purchase by selling puts which meant I only actually paid about 24/share for it and (2) the point where I finally caved in to my gut feeling, ignored the newsletter's "we're sure this one will be turning around any week now", and sold out was about a week before 9/11/2001; by the end of the month it was down to around 8 and took rather a long time to recover back to two digits...)
