a small theater i hadn't seen before.
Jul. 27th, 2003 12:48 pmthe tremont st theater is a very small venue right next to the wang center. what's that, you say? isn't the wang center flanked by the wilbur theater on one side and a parking garage on the other? well, sort of. inside the parking garage building is a small performance space and art gallery.
claudia and i went there last night to see blue hair troupe, a musical comedy revue set in a senior citizens performing arts center. claudia had won a pair of tickets for us from WERS's "standing room only" show last weekend. we were definitely among the youngest people in the audience, but it was amusing. they didn't make the mistake of too many comedy parody type performances where they try to flog a joke long past its amusement value -- get in, make the pun/joke, and get out and go on to the next thing. so even when they hit a clunker, it was only a few moments and then they were onto something else.
tonight, mary chapin carpenter at the cape code melody tent.
