i have a cold sore on my upper lip. i also seem to have one on my lower lip, which is unusual behavior.

I highly recommend Zilactin Gel for dealing with cold sores. It burns like H*** when you first apply it, but it works great at healing them up quickly. You can even use it when you feel one starting and it will help prevent it from getting really bad.
Good stuff, OTC in just about any pharmacy.
