Dear Television Industry Producers and Writers: It is not necessary for all female law enforcement officers to have some exceedingly traumatic past involving being the victims of crimes that drove them into law enforcement. No, really.

But how else will they dramatically freak out and have problems doing their job? Do you want them to be all professional and not randomly pink eyed and almost teary?

Next you're going to same female law enforcement officers shouldn't show skin. WHAT KIND OF MADNESS ARE YOU ADVOCATING!!

At least the cop chick on Angel didn't have a traumatic thing. She just had her overbearing cop-father thing. :) Though I guess she ends up having a traumatic thing during the series that makes her specifically seek out supernatural crimes with a vengence.
