i have no definite plans this weekend. it's the first time in quite a while where this is the case. (it feels like it's been a couple of months, maybe more.)

to add to this, claudia's not around this weekend until some time sunday afternoon (at the earliest).

this evening, i'm chained to the house because i'm covering the oncall for a coworker.

i could drive out to baitcon for the day tomorrow, or i could drive to the cape and visit my folks, or i could drive down to foxwoods and play poker, or i could wash walls in my basement and then paint them, or i could build shelves in the basement, or finish replacing some of the suspended ceiling tiles in the main apartment, or i could prime the stairway walls in the common area, or prime the stairway walls on the stairway from the 2nd to 3rd floors, or i could repaint the tv room table, or i could work on that annoying fucking linux box that keeps not getting built right, or i could play online poker, or i could play puzzle pirates online, or i could read the new harry potter book, or i could read the harrington book(s), or i could do absolutely nothing but sit around and watch movies at home.

the possibilities seem endless.

i think i'll settle for puttering around the house this evening, followed by a big pot of tea in the morning while i ponder the rest of my options.

EDIT: part of why this is a wonderful thing is that it's been a really long time (many months) since i've had nothing scheduled for a weekend *and* have felt sufficiently on top of basic life maintenance stuff that i don't feel like i need to spend a whole day cleaning my house just to get it to the point of being "a bit messy" gosh, this is nice.

I'm around this weekend. Do you want to come to my house, hug a fuzzy dog, and help me move some of the larger "I can't move it myself" pieces off my deck to prepare for my deck refinisher to arrive next week? Then we can go for some ice cream.

i'm sorry -- i ended up not pinging you about this yesterday.

i've spent the weekend alternating between reading harry potter and staring at my cat to see how she looks.

Relax. Do something for you which has nothing to do with your environment.

actually, i seem to be alternating between reading "harry potter" and doing 'improve-my-environment' stuff (as opposed to 'maintenance-level' environment stuff).

I love it when I can describe a weekend as "blissfully plan-free." They're rare, and I find that they usually get filled quite nicely.
