there are several blatant plot holes that they fucking well better fix/explain or i'm gonna be yorked.

like remember that big old virus that was in every fucking modern piece of colonial military defense hardware that made them roll over and play dead? modern pieces like those newfangled vipers that the pegasus has?

explain to me again how the pegasus has been successfully fighting cylons now, even if they did manage to get away on assault day?

i know there was some other plot hole that annoyed me but i don't remember now what it was.

The only way BSG makes any sense at all is that the Cylons are playing cat and mouse with the humans for complicated reasons of their own (or of "God"'s). This seems clear for so many reasons that if they aren't going for that plot I'm, as you say, yorked. I'm curious, though, as to whether Adama has figured it out.

Yes. I think the escape is substantially stage-managed, and I'm suspecting Season Two (after the hiatus) will be in part about breaking away from that control.

Alternatively, the multiple-Cylon-factions theory might make it reasonable.

I would hope that both Adama and Madame President have figured it out.
Certainly the Blonde Cylon on Caprica has strongly implied that the Cylons know that they're playing cat and mouse

It was very briefly referenced in the miniseries that the back door in question did get isolated and could be rolled back out - that's how Galactica got its Mark VII vipers, which were absolutely vulnerable, back into service, and how they're still using them now.

Pegasus still running win2k

There's also a potential dodge in that the Pegasus had just docked for a refit when the Cylons attacked, so one could imagine they hadn't gotten the latest software upgrade yet (when did Caprica6 get access to DoDSourceSafe and would that have been before or after Pegasus left on its exploration run or whatever it was...?)

I don't expect the Pegasus will be around long. After all its not called "Battlestars Galactica and Pegasus" Possible plot holes aside, its a damn interesting show and all I could say when the finale was over is "....*groan* January...."

If you're going to get yorked about the show you must be interested enough that you'd want to listen to the podcast that Ron Moore does for most episodes. The most recent podcast mentions that the episode was running about 1h15m long... they thought about shooting for 90 minutes, but ended up trimming it to 60. One thing that got cut was some dinner table discussion of how the Pegasus got away without being hit by the virus.

yes! i've got all the podcasts, but haven't listened to most of them yet -- claudia is particularly spoiler-phobic and heard there were spoilers in some of them and wanted to make sure she'd seen anything that might be spoilered before we re-watch the episodes while playing the podcasts. (they're still synched up, right?)
