severance was everything i wanted it to be and a bag of chips. it's described as "'the office' meets 'deliverance'" and that's a pretty good summation, although i'd say the horror is more 80's slasher movies than 'deliverance'. it's the same kind of take on the slasher-in-the-woods movie as "shaun of the dead" was for zombie flicks. i gave this one a 5. it rocked.
automatons was what i expected it would be. ultra low budget, shot on super 8mm black and white. it really needs some editing, as the pacing is off and some of the "hey, we're blowing up our miniatures!!!" scenes get kind of boring. but i gave it a 3, in the spirit of a "gentleman's c". this would be a great movie for the sf movie marathon to run at about 3 or 4 in the morning.
there was originally supposed to be a "TBA" midnight movie. i assume it's the same as monday's TBA movie which is in a maze of twisty little fedex passages, all different.
tonite, i take time off from moviemoviemovie and go to see "the margaret ghost".
but first, off to the cape.
