i'm also pretty sure i own a copy of the arrl antenna handbook, and i can't find that, either. but i'm not absolutely sure i actually own it so i'm not going to bother asking if i loaned it to anyone. although, you know, if i did own a copy and you did borrow it, feel free to fess up.
the fact that i haven't copied all the contents of the cd onto a local harddrive tends to support the theory that i don't actually own a copy and only thought i'd bought it when i picked up a copy of the arrl handbook.
we've got a wireless LAN analyzer (an ipaq running special software) at work, but hunting down rogue end stations running in ad hoc mode ranges from merely tedious to really frickin annoying, and i've got an external antenna port on the orinoco card I use in my personal laptop, so i'm thinking of making a *really* directional 2.4GHz antenna and walking around with it in the office the next time i want to go on a rogue hunt.
i could do a standard coffee can waveguide, or i could really freak people out and go for a large shotgun yagi antenna. i'm tempted to build the bigger antenna just for effect. :-)
