it's been over 2 years, and my tests and CAT scans are clean, but i still think OMG!! TUMOR!!! when i get a bout of plain old ordinary gas pain.

Ah, I totally sympathize. In a much less significant way, every time I have a bad period, I think, "Oh mi god, the fibroids are back and I'm going to have to have surgery again and I'm not going to be able to have kids and..."

Of course, I haven't mentioned this to my student health PA guy (in liu of having a doctor, since I am a student) because, after all, it's not cancer.

Come to think of it, finding any incipient fibroids early enough to have them removed non-surgically would probably be a good thing. Maybe I'll ask him for an ultrasound consult next time I'm there.
