dropped the new drives into the tivo, master-to-master, slave-to-slave, and put it all back together and hooked it up and ... nothing.

it sat around at the initial splash screen for quite a while.

on the off chance that maybe it's formatting or something, i disconnected the phone cord (in case it woke up and decided to phone home via new mexico or something) and will let it do it's thing overnight.

i'm not particularly hopeful, tho. perhaps there was a flaw in the instant caking? dunno. i'll see how things are in the morning, tho.
