i had heard that there were some actual unrelated-to-athf hoax bomb devices found the other day as well. http://www.bpdnews.com/2007/02/message_from_the_police_commis_2.html has some timeline info.

The thing that got me about the actual fake bombs as opposed to the surrealist fake ... not bombs, is that while the police know who put the one in the medical center basement, they did not arrest that person.

I didn't interpret that as their knowing who did it; sounded to me like they got a report of a person acting nutty but didn't say they got an ID.
