things i didn't expect to say last nite
May. 22nd, 2007 10:38 am"unfortunately, that wasn't caused by cat vomit"
see, i have this suspended ceiling in my office at home. two of the tiles are missing, because the cats like to jump up there and wander around. and so when i looked up at a particular part of the ceiling last nite and saw a big brown wet stain, i figured "oh dear, maybe it's cat vomit".
unfortunately, that wasn't caused by cat vomit.
it seems my house sprung a leak during the weekend's monsoon.
in a panic, i pinged i_leonardo and the duck last nite and they came over and helped pull down some of the wet insulation and narrowed down the likely area where the leak is.
i'm waiting for the roofing contractor to show up this morning and take a look.
edited to add: also, what the hell is happening to my internet?? (link goes to a jpg of dogs in banana suits.)

Date: 2007-05-23 04:07 am (UTC)I'm glad it was only a section and not the whole roof.
We've got a small leak too, but it only happened in heavy, sustained rains with lots of blowing upwards. We haven't had it looked at yet.
Who are your roofers? Do they do regular roofs in addition to slate ones?
