ETA: i have the dvd as of yesterday. some good extra features, but alas, no commentary track.

yeah. it gives a good sense of the movie. apparently, one of the reasons they got great casting is that they shot during the writer's strike, so a lot of good folks were hanging out on the bench.

This was one of the fan favorite films at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival last year (october), and I've been awaiting the DVD release.

Did I evangelize this at you at some point and forgot, or did you know about this through another avenue?

it played at the boston sf movie marathon this past weekend, saturday evening, and ben rock was there for a quick q&a afterwards. i pre-ordered it THAT VERY NIGHT (thanks, iphone!) and it arrived yesterday.

two of the dvd extras are excerpts from the tapes in ritter's van, and one is myspace video blogging from wossname, the cashier chick who was the cop's stepdaughter.

Did he talk about the fact that all the handheld footage in the movie was a result of them looking at the actor with the videocamera's footage, and realizing "oh shit! this is awesome! we should use this!" ?
