Gay quilt fabric. no, seriously. GAY quilt fabric.
kathrynt: on a totally different topic, did I ever show you the gayest quilt fabric in the world?
kathrynt: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=94841
rmd: oh my GOD.
rmd: that's gayer than a pride parade float.
rmd: that's nearly nsfw levels of gay.
rmd: quilt fabric. BY TOM O FINLAND.
kathrynt: there are a couple of others of these: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=81464 and http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=63989 -- but I think the first is the gayest.
rmd: now i am tempted to make a GAY GAY GAY quilt.
rmd: full of GAY.
kathrynt: Gay! Gay! Gay!
kathrynt: I actually have a great, easy pattern for such a thing, and a much cleverer and harder pattern.
rmd: SO GAY.
rmd: ULTRAGAY.
kathrynt: The first involves cutting the fabric into 10" squares -- the dudes are about 12" tall, so chances are very strong that each square will feature bits of muscley bodies but not the entire figure.
kathrynt: Isolated body parts: gayer.
rmd: oh man.
rmd: a quilt WITH CROTCH SHOTS.
kathrynt: The second, harder one involves cutting the fabric into its component repeats and stacking 8 of them together, carefully pinning so that you have 8 identical pieces of fabric. Then you cut the fabric into 45" wedges and sew them together into PINWHEELS OF GAY.
kathrynt: This method is called "stack and whack," for extra gay.
rmd: PINWHEELS OF GAY.

kathrynt: Imagine if each wedge had a torso or a crotch in it.
kathrynt: you should totally make one and put it on your guest bed.
kathrynt: AND there's your rainbow fabric: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=112427
rmd: oh god!
kathrynt: SEE??!
rmd: SO GAY.
Alas, we decided there really wasn't a way to do an equivalently LESBORIFFIC DYKETASTIC gay chick quilt:
kathrynt: I'm trying to figure out if you could do an equivalently lesbian quilt.
kathrynt: There's this: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=76780
rmd: something covered with mediocre artwork of kd, martina, phranc, etc.
rmd: that's a little too studio 54 and not enough Lesbian Nation overalls
kathrynt: or this: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=82999
rmd: see, there you go.
rmd: i'm going to have to post a big chunk of this conversation to lj. you realize that, right?
kathrynt: I do.
kathrynt: Or this: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=109414
kathrynt: Or this!! http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=87447&
kathrynt: Bad artwork: check
rmd: oh god.
rmd: you need to match it up with some androgynous looking 50's guys who look enough like eisenhauer-era butches to pass.
kathrynt: Sash it with this: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=110048
rmd: ha!
kathrynt: Back it with this: http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=108640
kathrynt: but sadly the gay one is funnier
rmd: yeah.
