So, it occurs to me that I've got a reader for PDF and other similar file types in my pocket these days. And a fair amount of space on the device as well.

What documents do folks find convenient to have on their portable devices? (I've currently got some technical manuals for personal and work-related stuff, so far.)

Off the top of my head: don't ignore the Baen free library, and don't forget that Baen and O'Reilly offer their books as DRM-free EPUB files (ie. they'll open just fine in iBooks or Stanza).

What I tend to do is, I have a remote repository (MobileMe in my case, but all sorts will work) and an app for accessing it (iDisk for MobileMe, GoodReader for many others). I set up a directory structure with all the PDF manuals for my consumer electronics in it. So I can find the manual for my TV set (including how to program the remote for a new gadget), my various game consoles, all sorts of things, when I need 'em.
