Oct. 26th, 2011 09:01 pmSo, I bought a thing on ebay this evening. And I did all the 'pay with paypal' crap and finished up the transaction. And then I got mail on offhand about it. Which I read with plain old /bin/mail. And I saw this:
And I had a moment of utter wtf terror wondering how I possibly missed the fact that there was $240 in shipping tacked on and I totally would've seen that in paypal and how could it ....
And then I remembered that "=24" is also the encoding for "$", and I fired the message up in mutt and checked that it actually said:
*whew*. That's better.
Unit Price: =246.99 USD Total: =246.99 USD Shipping and handling: =240.00 USD Insurance - not offered : ---- Total: =246.99 USD Payment: =246.99 USD
