According to their web site the faucet filters do, but the pitcher filters don't, so I'm out of luck.

on the other hand, really, if there is a zombie invasion going on RIGHT THEN, giardia prevention/avoidance might be a bit lower down on your heirarchy of needs.

I have tablets for the giardia, then pitcher brita for the rest.

You didn't ask about zombie-proofing the house. That is something I've considered extensively...zombie-proofability of work-places, current residences and other structures I spend a lot of time in is something I think about quite a bit...

good point!

if i've got enough time and electricity is still running, i think the air compressor with nailgun would be helpful both for securing the house and addressing certain zombie issues. psssshKATHUNK.

To be clear, when I say I have "access" to a boat, what I mean is that I live walking distance from a lake with (locked) ocean access, and it has sailboats moored in it, and I know how to sail, and I am not above theft to save my life.

I'd be worried that the duct tape would give out at an inopportune moment allowing one of the knives to lop off your foot.

(Gotta wonder how many of the mangled zombie victims in the movies were injured not as a result of the chaos, but of household accidents with power tools? :)

Access to a Costco is a poor strategy. The density of human targets and the similarity of zombies to typical store customers will tend to create the conditions for a large-scale breakout of zombies. As learned in Dawn of the Dead, shopping centers may seem helpful in the short term but are a death trap when the zombie outbreak continues for some time.

Proper strategy is evacuation to a remote and unpopulated island with no cemeteries. Grab supplies and commandeer a boat. Pick up trusted confidants, identified as non-zombies by the required lengthy quotation of poetry, and then head straight for the island. Kill all future intruders who do not respond to poetry signals.

Yes, the main problem is that everyone else will head there too. Even the zombies will figure out that that's where the best pickings are.

If only my grandmother were still in her old house! There were enough canned goods in that basement to outlast ANY zombie infestation.

Why would zombies have to be evacuated?

Thanks for this poll; it was very amusing.

I and some friends have a pre-agreed meeting spot and have even scouted routes to it that don't involve major highways. I don't think we were specifically contemplating zombies, but our general infrastructure collapse plans should work pretty well for zombie, too. :)
