I've done my part to help insure that we'll have far less snow this year than last. Which is to say, I just bought a snowblower (18" worx electric snowblower). Yeah, electric snowblowers generally aren't as powerful as gas-powered ones, but getting to avoid small engine maintenance (and avoiding having to *remember to deal with it*) is a net win, I think, for me.

I figured the time to get one was before they all sell out. :)

We LOVE our electric snowblower. It is easy to wield. Be sure to get the extension cord that is rated for cold; we've pulled the plugs off a couple of the other kind, leaving tasty exposed wires.

That Mojo did not work for us. Last year we got an insane amount of snow. We bought our snowblower the day of the very first snowstorm, it was snowing as we drove home with it, and we weren't the only ones buying them that day either. Can you say procrastination...

That's because Murphy's Law is idempotent1. For example, washing your car to make it rain doesn't work, either.

I'm about to go buy a new snowshovel and some salt, myself. Murphy can suck it!

Well, I bought a roof rake.

The shitheads at the Farmer's Almanac say colder than normal. Dicks.

Thanks in advance! Either for preventing a snow storm, or for lending me your snow blower when you're done with it after a doozy? ;-)

how much does it weigh? I'd get mad bad-ass points for picking it up in my bike-trailer. :)

Considering that I have a 42 inch, 300 pound electric snowblower on my tractor, I'd have to question the "lack of power" thing :-)

Nice job.

Yeah, well this one was limited by the size of the alley we can create between the borders of the driveway and the parked truck. If it can't fit there it's not nearly so useful, even though that means less power.

Slight miss of point: You can do a lot with an electric snowblower, depends on the tool for the job. They're not all little power-shovels, as my E20 can attest to.

Right tool for job.
