so, i'm going to vegas later this week. and i got a bunch of money out of an ATM earlier tonite and now i have a stack of previously uncirculated $20's, all consecutively numbered and shiny and perfect and new. they even smell new.

i'm fondling and sniffing them and fanning them to feel the texture.

i'm such a freak.

we all do it..

I remember nights working the summer blockbuster season at the movie theatre, and holding thousands of dollars in my hands..

money, even boring american greenbacks, still feel good. especially new ones ;)

Are you cackling while you do it? If you can't cackle, at least muster up a MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I /love/ fondling cash. Really. It's why I'm so often the one doing the money collection on food runs.

Winning bingo on the ship was /great/ not only for having a bunch of money to pay for the cruise, but for having it in cash, in my hands, to fondle and love and fan and play with. :)

I highly recommend, while you're in Las Vegas, to make time to visit that Shrine of Geekdom, the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton. It really is a fun and exhilirating ride, and I enjoyed the ambience of Quark's Bar. I've been told that the random aliens you may meet there aren't employees of the hotel, but just fans that started showing up, and the hotel was smart enough to encourage them to keep it up. (Might be an Urban Legend, but having met enough Star Trek Geeks, it does seem like the hobby of choice for some.)

I secretly love Las Vegas. It's such a monument to blatent excess and style over substance. That can be fun, once you come to terms with the incredible silliness of the whole thing.

yes! vegas is such a freakshow. such peoplewatching. such excess. i love it.

i've been to the star trek part of the casino. i'm not really fond motion simulator rides these days (the past few years, my inner ear hasn't liked them. hopefully this is just a temporary thing), so i haven't been on the ride itself.

i will have to take a look at the aliens i see next time i'm in there. i *think* it's an urban myth, but one never knows. :-)

One time during my short and undistinguished career as assistant manager of a record store (the worst job I have EVER had), I managed to drop a cash drawer on the floor of the office while I was balancing it. I remember thinking "I just dropped $5,000 on the floor!"
